The Holding Company development priority and promising directions are:
- 1. The introduction of 3G mobile communications in CDMA 2000 standard.
The communications will be executed in the range of 450 MHz in which SOTEL network operates today. This range provides the new communications technology with such advantages as big coverage area and the best enveloping and penetrating capability of radio waves.
The Communications Ministry has already developed the General plan of CDMA 2000 standard development. The plan describes and regulates practically all the aspects of new network building, starting from base stations operators deployment to giving individual IP-addresses in Internet, implies direct network connecting to all communications operators and data transfer networks. Kuzbass Cellular Communications Company is ready to build and launch 3G in the shortest time in Kemerovo region. Relationship with POLENET network would give the opportunity to transfer data from ordinary mobile phone, CDMA 2000 standard at 153Kbit/sec.
And this already means high speed access to Internet, cellular digital TV and many other important services in our time.
- 2. Building of Internet access network in the Western Siberia territory.
Within the framework of the Internet Access Services Development Programme for the Western Siberia,
POLENET has started to build backbone nodes and final subscribers radio access networks which will allow to home the clients via wireless super speed digital channels to the data transfer network, including Internet network and voice IP.
This is assisted by use of advanced equipment Alvarion and BreezeAccess XL in the range of 3.5 GHz.
The expected subscribers number by the dedicated lines is more than 2000, by dial-up access from 30,000 to 40,000 subscribers on the territory of Western Siberia.
- 3.Building of TV and Radio broadcasting network on Siberia territory.
The project implementation has started in 1998 and envisages construction of TV and Radio broadcasting stations in Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk, Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Prokopievsk and Anzhero-Sudzhensk ensuring network broadcasting on Kuzbass territory.
At present the transmitting center have already operated from Kemerovo providing TV channel 73 «TV3» and two radio broadcasting channels «Echo of Moscow»and «Chanson».
On 15 March 2002 the radio broadcasting studio started to work in Novokuznetsk, and in the 3rd quarter of 2002 the studio started to operate in Mezhdurechensk. The last term of the project implementation is the year 2003.
- 4.Building of Digital Telephone Communications Network in the Western Siberia.
The project envisages building in the regional centers of the area telephone stations united among themselves in one single network providing local long-distance telephone communications services. The main consumers market is presented by corporative sector and business clients.
- 5.Creation of the Regional Company Retail Trade Network on Siberian Federal area territory.
The regional network will be deployed at the major part of the area covering Krasnoyarsk krai, Altay krai, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Omsk and Novosibirsk regions.
Retail trade means selling of hi-tech goods or services, primarily the goods of the Holding companies, as well as the goods and services of other interested enterprises at single prices acceptable for a big circle of buyers. Accessible prices are stipulated by sales volumes and direct contacts with the equipment manufacturers.
Clearly fixed prices, work standards, quality assurance, marketing events, staff uniform are the indispensable conditions of company trade which make the network recognizable and attractive. Using the experience gained through creation of similar network in Kemerovo region, we are able to use it for the project implementation in the Siberian area.
The expected effect from the project realization is sales volume increase, service quality improvement and consequently winning the leading positions at the regional mobile communications market.
Introduction and offer of modern communications complex services to the clients is not just beneficial funds investment for investors and profitable business for operators. These projects have significant social and economic importance, since they would make a sizable contribution in the communications sector development in Western Siberia, they will be very helpful in business, create new jobs making the region one of the most profitable tax payers to the budgets of all levels.
